Hua Thi Son, beloved wife, mother, sister, and grandmother, peacefully passed away and was welcomed into the Kingdom of God on Saturday, November 9, 2024, in Atlanta, Georgia. Born on January 10, 1948, in Ben Tre, Vietnam, Son lived a remarkable life filled with love and dedication to her family and community. Son was employed at Sports Authority, where she worked tirelessly for 15 years before retiring. Her commitment and hard work were admired by colleagues and friends alike. Son’s contributions during her tenure at Sports Authority will always be remembered. Before coming to the US, Son was a teacher for 20 plus years in Vietnam. Beyond her professional achievements, Son was a woman of faith whose heart found delight in cooking, fellowship, traveling, gardening, and knitting. She embraced life with a friendly and loving spirit, and her devotion to her family was unwavering. Her loved ones cherish the memories of her lovingly prepared meals and the vibrant garden she nurtured. They hold dear the warmth of the clothes she knitted and crocheted. Son generously shared her knowledge, ensuring that her legacy lives on through the recipes, plants, and skills she passed down. Her warm personality left an indelible mark on everyone who had the privilege of knowing her.
One of Son's proudest accomplishments was her journey to America. Together with her husband, Pham Van Trang, she built a beautiful life for their family, embracing the opportunities of their new chapter and creating a loving home filled with warmth and happiness. Son is survived by her loving husband of 55 years, Pham Van Trang, and their children:
- Eldest daughter: Pham Hua Thien Trang, her husband, and two children
- Eldest son: Pham Hua Bao Trung, his wife, and children
- Second son: Pham Hua Quang Truc (deceased), his wife, and two children
- Youngest son: Pham Hua Thien Truyen, his wife, and their expected child (to be born in 2025)
Her legacy also continues through her five grandsons and one granddaughter.
The loss of Son will be deeply felt by all who knew her. To honor her memory and celebrate her life, visitation, funeral, and prayer services will be held on Friday, November 15, 2024, from 5:00 PM to 9:00 PM at Thomas L. Scroggs Funeral Directors in Morrow, Georgia. Additional visitation and funeral services will take place on Saturday, November 16, 2024, starting at 10:00 AM, following the funeral service at 11:00 AM at the First Baptist Church of Morrow (1647 Lake Harbin Rd), a final gathering will be held from 12:30 PM to 1:30 PM at Morrow Cemetery. Hua Thi Son was a remarkable individual who touched the lives of many through her kindness, hard work, and dedication. Her memory will forever remain in our hearts as we remember her for her loving spirit and devotion to family and community. May her soul rest in eternal peace
