Patricia Mayo Thomas

Patricia Mayo Thomas was born March 6, 1936, to Charles Hugh Mayo and Alma Carreker Mayo in McDonough, GA. She went on to be with Jesus on June 21, 2021. In 1952, she married her high school sweetheart, Derrell Autry Thomas. Two years later they became parents to a son, Derrell Steven Thomas. Daughter, Julie Kaye Thomas was born five years later and completed their family. She was able to make the world around her more beautiful by her talents for decorating, arranging flowers, creating music, and her love for travel. She passed on her gift for creating music and art to her children and grandchildren. Pat overcame many challenges during her lifetime and will be remembered for her strong determination and fighting spirit.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Derrell Thomas; son, Steven Thomas, and her parents. She is survived by her daughter, Julie Thomas; daughter-in-law, Denise (Rodgers) Thomas, 4 grandchildren, 6 great grandchildren; sister, Brenda (Mayo) White; brother, Don Mayo; sister-in-law, Gail Williams, her beloved cat, and countless friends and extended family. 

A funeral service will be held at Thomas L. Scroggs Funeral Directors on Friday, June 25, 2021 at 1:00 PM. Dr. Tommy Aman will be officiating. Interment will follow at Forest Hills Memorial Gardens. The family will be receiving friends prior to service beginning at 11:00 AM.
