Myra Jo (Cole) Terrell, formerly of Forest Park GA, passed away on Saturday, October 21, 2023 at the age of 97.
She was born September 2, 1926, to Joseph Clayton and Kate Williamson Cole. She was preceded in death by her husband, Haeston Terrell of 57 years of marriage and by her sons; Garry H, and Anthony (Tony), and Randall (Randy) Terrell.
Raised on a farm in Carrollton, GA, Myra knew hard work and dedication to family. She was raised in a loving home, with her parents and three sisters: Mary, Sarah, and Margaret. Myra carried this love throughout her life, and into her own family. She met her husband through his cousin who lived next door. After serving in World War II, Haeston returned to marry his sweetheart, Myra. They moved to Atlanta, GA in 1948. Haeston started working at Rich’s, and Myra took a small job at Sears & Roebuck before they started having children. She decided then to stay at home and raise the children. After the second child was born, they moved to Forest Park, GA in 1955. Myra raised the children with the same love she learned from her parents. After raising their children, she worked for the Clayton County Board of Education, and retired after eighteen years of service in the lunchroom at Hendrix Drive Elementary School. They moved to Lake City, GA in 2000 and lived there until they were called home. Myra had so much pride and love for her children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren.
Myra is survived by her Granddaughter; Jennifer (Aaron) Tullar of Johns Creek, Grandson; Garry R. Terrell of Lake City, Granddaughter; Kimberly Terrell of Stockbridge, Grandson; Matthew Terrell of Stockbridge, Great-granddaughters; Kate Jo and Claire Tullar and daughter in law; Tammie Terrell of Fayetteville, GA.
