Melba Denson

Melba Louise (Gorum) Denson, 93, of Forest Park, GA went to be with her Lord and Savior on December 04, 2022. Melba was born January 26, 1929 in Brooks, Alabama to the late, Sanford Gorum and Corene (Stanley) Gorum. She was a devoted loving wife, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother. Melba was a Christian and had an eternal bond with Jesus Christ.

Melba was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Roy Eugene Denson; granddaughters, Wanda Michelle (Owens)(Leslie) Mogford and Donati Jean Pierce; siblings, Mildred Blalock, Mary Helen Gorum, Marvin Earl Gorum and Marlon Royce Gorum.

Melba is survived by her daughter, Wanda Ann (Pierce) Owens of Jackson GA; step-son, James O'Neal (Anna) Pierce of Sugar Grove, OH; grandsons, Stephen Thomas (Susan) Owens, Jackson, GA and Jeffrey O'Neal (Kellie) Pierce, Sugar Grove, OH; granddaughter, Linda Lou (Mark) Thomas, Delaware, OH; great-grandchildren, Stephen Tyler Snair, Haylee and McKenlee Owens, Justin Pierce, Dylan and Coy Thomas and many nieces, nephews and friends. Also, her best furry friend, Penny.

Services will be held at Thomas L. Scroggs Funeral Directors on Thursday, December 8, 2022 at 12:00 pm. Rev. Gary Shutterfield will be officiating. Interment will follow at Forest Hills Memorial Gardens.  The family will be receiving friends at the funeral home prior to service beginning at 11:00 am.
