Martha Ann Newberry

Martha Ann Newberry, 85, of Forsyth, GA passed away peacefully on Thursday, September 14, 2023. A Funeral Service will be held in her honor on Monday, September 18, 2023 at 12:30 PM at Thomas Scroggs Funeral Home. Martha will be laid to rest next to her husband, Eugene, at Crest Lawn Cemetery following the service. A visitation for family and friends to gather will take place on Sunday, September 17, 2023 between the hours of 1:00 PM – 3:00 PM at Thomas Scroggs Funeral Home. The family has asked that in lieu of flowers donations be made in Martha’s name to Alzheimer’s association at act.alz.org or American Cancer Society at donate.cancer.org.

Martha is survived by her daughters, Vicky Cermak and Tammy Bozeman & husband David; sons, David Newberry & wife Dianna and Andy Newbery; 8 grandchildren; 15 great-grandchildren; 2 great-great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her loving husband Eugene Newberry; grandsons Kenneth Cotter and Michael Newberry. 

Martha Ann Poss Newberry was born on Friday, October 15, 1937 to Hurley & Myrtle Poss in Buford, GA. She married Eugene Newberry and they had 32 years together. Martha worked for over 15 years at CVS and enjoyed every day. She enjoyed shopping, cooking for her family and most of all spending time with her grandchildren. Martha was a caregiver by nature and spent a lot of time taking care of her mother and her husband. She was a caring and loving soul with a great sense of humor and enjoyed pulling the occasional prank. Martha was a loving and caring mother, and grandmother, her presence will be forever missed.
