Marion Leonard Singleton, 81, of Stockbridge, passed away on July 27, 2020 after a valiant battle with a long illness. His firm belief in God supported him throughout his illness and ultimately gave him peace. Due to COVID 19 restrictions, no formal services have been arranged at this time. A celebration of life service will be scheduled at a later date.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Hugh and Fannie Singleton; his brothers, Arthur and Paul; and first wife Marietta Bostick Singleton, who passed away in 2007. He is survived by his wife of 12 years, JoAnn Singleton; his brother, Herman and his wife Jean; and several beloved nieces, nephews and stepchildren.
Leonard was born on July 3, 1939 and grew up in Snellville. He retired from Dekalb County as a master plumber. Leonard was a devoted member of Berean Baptist Church in Ellenwood where he served as a faithful usher for many years and truly cherished that responsibility. His favorite pastime was watching baseball and football on television. Most of all, he loved watching the Atlanta Braves and the Georgia Tech Yellow Jackets. He also enjoyed listening to country music.
Leonard was kind and soft-spoken. He will be dearly missed by his loved ones, who celebrate the fact that he is at peace with his creator.
