Marcia Lee (Smith) Donlin passed away peacefully at the age of 75 on June 26, 2024.
Marcia's journey began on December 21st, 1948, as the daughter of Paul and Heldred (Marsh) Smith. She was born and raised in the Beechwoods area, attending Beechwoods School and Presbyterian Church. Marcia attended Brockway High School in the class of 1966, where she met her husband, Roger Donlin. They began life together in 1965, when Roger was selected to escort Marcia as Homecoming Queen. Marcia and Roger were married September 19, 1969, just before Roger shipped out to Vietnam. Roger proposed from a telephone booth in Fort Gordon, Georgia. Marcia put their wedding together in only a week, beginning their nearly 55-year marriage together. Marcia and Roger have two children, Julie (Donlin) Young and Colin Donlin. Marcia began raising her family in Brockway while working at the Brockway Glass main office and engineering center for many years. She also worked as a real estate agent at Swisher Realty in DuBois. In Georgia, Marcia worked as an administrative clerk for the Clayton County youth probation office.
Marcia relocated many times in her life due to Roger’s Army service and his Owens-Illinois career. The family moved to Colorado, twice to Ohio, twice to Georgia, and to Texas. Marcia and Roger retired to the Atlanta, Georgia area in 2005, making it possible to be near grandchildren for the last twenty years.
Marcia enjoyed reading, vacations to the beach, and watching her beloved Atlanta Braves and Atlanta United soccer. Her best friend was and is her beloved sister Janice (Smith) Russell, whom she called Petie.
Marcia is preceded in death by her mother Heldred (Marsh) (Smith) Magoni, her father Paul Smith, her stepfather Julius Magoni, and her brother Gary Smith.
