Kenneth Leroy Ricker peacefully fell asleep in the Lord on Tuesday, February 4, 2025, at the age of 66, at his home in Jonesboro, Georgia. He was surrounded by the love and comfort of those who cared for him so deeply throughout his life.
Born on June 14, 1958, to Fannie Woods Ricker Rodriguez and Willard Ricker, both of Georgia, Kenny was a gentle soul with a heart full of warmth. He spent over 30 years under the care of the Clayton Center Community Service Board, where he found a true sense of belonging. His time at his group home was filled with love, laughter, and the support of dedicated caregivers who treated him with the utmost compassion, offering not only their care but their friendship. Kenny’s deep affection for his roommates and caregivers was always evident, as he relished in their attention, affection, and the simple joy of a good head rub.
Though his family grieves his passing, they take comfort in the love he shared and the peace he now knows. Kenny is preceded in death by his father, Willard Ricker (GA), his mother, Fannie Woods Ricker Rodriguez (TX), his brother Wayne Woods (TX), and his sister Marlene Woods Brown (TX).
We are eternally grateful to the Clayton Center Community Service Board for their unwavering care and to Southern Grace Hospice for providing compassionate support during Kenny’s final days. Their kindness and dedication allowed him to live with dignity, surrounded by love until his peaceful transition.
Kenny will forever remain in the hearts of those who knew him, his spirit of joy, his smile, and his loving nature never to be forgotten. He will be laid to rest on February 6, 2025, at North Atlanta Memorial Park in Dunwoody, Georgia, where his memory will be cherished by all who loved him. May he rest in eternal peace.
And Jesus said to him, “Assuredly, I say to you, today you will be with Me in Paradise.”—Luke 23:43
With the Saints give rest, O Christ, to the soul of Your departed servant Kenny, where there is neither sickness nor sorrow nor sighing but life everlasting. May his memory be eternal.
