Judy Chapman, a beloved wife, mother, sister, and friend, passed away suddenly on July 11, 2024, in Hampton, Georgia. She was born on November 20, 1943, to John and Gladys Hover. Judy dedicated 30 years of her life to working contract management for the United States Government before retiring.
Known for her loving and giving nature, Judy was described as a soft-hearted and hardworking individual. A good Christian woman and proper lady, she touched the lives of many with her kindness and generosity. One of her dearest memories was a trip to Disney with her sons Mark and Dan, along with their wives, where she had the joy of meeting Chewbacca whom she adored.
Judy's proudest accomplishments include raising her two boys with her husband Paul to be fine upstanding men. Family was at the center of Judy's world, and she cherished spending time with her loved ones above all else.
Judy is survived by her sons Mark Chapman & wife Yelena and Dan Chapman & wife Mandy. She is also survived by her sister Carol Bryan, niece Kim & husband Dwaine, nephew Rick Maier & wife Marci, as well as dear friends Stan & Kathy Griffin, and Bob and Bernice Hinson. She is preceded in death by her loving husband of 49 years, Paul Chapman and her parents, John & Gladys Hover
Apart from her professional life, Judy found immense joy in being heavily involved in the church community, she was a member of Morrow Presbyterian Church for over 40 years where she actively participated in the church choir and women's group. Her hobbies included working on puzzles, watching the Hallmark Channel, feeding the birds in her yard, and traveling with her family and the Young at Heart group at Morrow Presbyterian. Judy was also a proud member of the P.E.O Sisterhood Chapter H (Philanthropic Educational Organization) for over 60 years.
A visitation will be held on Saturday, August 3, 2024 beginning at 10:00 AM until 11:00 AM at Morrow Presbyterian Church. A Celebration of Life Service to honor Judy will begin at 11:00 AM following the visitation.
Judy Chapman will be remembered for her unwavering faith, loving spirit, and dedication to those around her. She leaves behind a legacy of love and kindness that will continue to inspire all who knew her. May she rest in peace.
