Jerry was born on July 25, 1947. He passed away on April 18, 2024. He lived a life full of dedication, love, and service.
Jerry proudly serviced his country in Vietnam for four years. After his military service, he continued his commitment by working for the Army Air Force Exchange Service for 30 years. He work ethic was unparalleled, always working tirelessly to support and provide for his family.
Jerry loved camping and fishing. Some of the best family memories were from time spent together in the great outdoors. Whether it was a quiet moment by the campfire or the thrill of catching a big fish, these moments were when Jerry was his happiest-surrounded by family, nature, and the simple joys of life.
He was a man who could fix anything. Always tinkering with cars, computers, and homes. His hands were never idle. His mind was always working on the next project. This ability to repair and improve was a testament to his belief in always striving to be the best you can be.
Family meant everything to Jerry. He was a devoted husband to Ruth, and a loving father to Jenay Beshears and Jeremey Coates. He adored his grandchildren, Lawson, Morgan, and Lauren (Jenay's children)and Aleah , Brianna, and Bryson (Jeremy's children). He cherished every moment with them, teaching them the same values he instilled in his own children.
Jerry taught us many valuable lessons. He believed in leading from the front and being the best you can be- not out of conceit, but to reach your full potential. He often said, "Do things right or don't do them at all", and "Do what you say you are going to do." His words. "Perception is fact, talk is cheap, and action is proof." were guiding principles in his life and ours.
As a Marine, Jerry embodied the true meaning of Semper Fidelis-always faithful. His unwavering dedication to his family and his principles will forever guide us.
We will remember him as a man of integrity, strength, and boundless love. We honor his legacy by striving to live by the lessons he taught us and by keeping his spirit alive i our hearts.
Rest in peace, Jerry. You will always be our hero.
