Janet Phillips, born in Atlanta, Georgia, passed away peacefully on April 4, 2025, at the age of 62. Though she lived in various parts of Georgia throughout her life, Cabbagetown always held a special place in her heart. It was there that she made lifelong friends, married, raised her children, and worked as the beloved snack bar manager at the Starlight Drive-In-where many remember her warm smile and kind spirit.

Janet was the cherished daughter of Gladys and Leroy Phillips and a loving sister to two brothers and five sisters: Arthur Phillips, Paul Phillips, Darlene, Peggy, Sara, Marie, and Dorothy. She was a devoted wife to Grady Gatlin and later found love again with her second husband, Steven Pack. Janet was the proud and loving mother of Danielle, Joseph, and Alicia, and the adoring grandmother of six granddaughters and five grandsons.

Janet found joy in life's simple pleasures. She loved watching classic TV shows like In the Heat of the Night, Family Feud, and The Price Is Right, but nothing brought her more excitement than her weekly dose of WWE wrestling. Her sweet tooth was well-known-especially her love for chocolate, Reese's cakes, and an ice-cold Coca-Cola.

She had a generous heart and always looked out for her loved ones. Janet made sure her children and siblings were taken care of, especially during the holidays. Christmas was her favorite time of year, and she never let a holiday pass without making sure her grandchildren had presents under the tree. Traveling from Chatsworth to Atlanta to spend Thanksgiving and Christmas with her family brought her so much joy-especially when she could enjoy a plate full of dressing and ham and watch her family laugh and celebrate together.

In her later years, Janet moved to the peaceful country mountains of Chatsworth, Georgia, with Steven Pack. There, away from the bustle of city life, she found tranquility and continued to live life with the same love and warmth that she shared with everyone around her.

Janet Phillips touched many lives with her kindness, her humor, and her deep love for her family. She will be missed dearly and remembered always. Now in Heaven, she watches over her loved ones as their guardian angel.

A Funeral Service will take place on Wednesday, April 9th 2025 at 1 pm. There will be a visitation an hour prior. The Interment will be private.
