Glenn Allen Cook, a dedicated and honorable retired member of the United States Army, passed away peacefully in his home in Conley, Georgia on January 18, 2024, surrounded by his loving family. Born on May 23, 1942, in Miami, Florida, Glenn touched the lives of many.
Glenn's career spanned over two decades in the United States Army. He served with the 56th ADA as a Nike Hercules Missile Crew Chief. He retired with the rank of SFC. Glenn’s long years of service were a testament to his commitment to his country.
Glenn had a deep appreciation for music and took joy in listening to show tunes as well as music from the 1950’s and 60’s. He also enjoyed traveling with his beloved wife Mary. Through their 62 years of marriage, they traveled around the country enjoying God’s creation.
Glenn was an avid sports fan, especially baseball. He would passionately proclaim every year that he would never watch the Braves play again – only to find himself cheering them on the following season: Pepsi and popcorn in hand.
Glenn is survived by his wife, Mary Gilbert Cook of Conley, GA; daughter Bonnie Cook (Wes Allen) of Dallas, TX; son Scott Cook (Carol Cook) of Forsyth, GA; granddaughter Maggie Cook-Allen; grandson Ryan Molock (Katie); great-grandson Jaxon Molock; great-granddaughter Taylor Molock. He is also survived by his sisters-in-law Jeanne, Charlotte, Betty, Fay (Tommy,) and Sue (Gerald) as well as nieces and nephews. Glenn is preceded in death by his father, J.C. Cook, Mother, AnnMarie Cook and brother, Donald Cook.
Glenn's memory will forever be cherished by those who had the privilege of knowing him. Glenn was a member of Forest Park United Methodist Church for many years.
A visitation will be held on January 22, 2024, from 11:00 AM to 12:00 PM at Forest Park United Methodist Church in Forest Park, GA. The funeral service will follow immediately after at 12:00 PM with Dr. Rev. O. Wesley Allen, Jr. officiating. Glenn's final resting place will be Morrow Cemetery in Morrow, GA. The burial ceremony will take place immediately following the service.
Glenn touched the lives of many. Though he will be deeply missed by all who knew him, his spirit lives on in the hearts of those he loved and inspired.
