With a spirit that radiated kindness and a welcoming nature, Wayne brought joy to everyone who had the privilege of knowing him. a life well-lived, he passed away peacefully on November 19 2024, in Morrow, GA, leaving behind cherished memories and a legacy of love.
Wayne was not only a devoted man but also a person with an infectious sense of humor. He nurtured deep bonds with his family, particularly with his beloved sister, Teresa Delaney. Their close relationship was a source of great happiness to him, and he often looked forward to the vacations they spent together at the beach. It was during these sun-soaked days that Wayne could be heard joyfully declaring, “I’m basting in the sun!” as he embraced the warmth that soon became part of his ever-tanned figure.
A self-proclaimed lover of creamy peanut butter, there was always a jar within reach of Wayne, perhaps as a reflection of his nurturing spirit. He found beauty in cooking, seeing it as a love language where he could express his affection for family and friends alike. His talents extended beyond the kitchen; he possessed a green thumb, taking great delight in tending to his beloved plants which thrived under his care.
Wayne’s musical tastes were diverse, rooted strongly in country music. He found solace and joy in the songs of Reba McEntire, Dolly Parton, and Patsy Cline, but also danced along to the captivating rhythms of Michael Jackson, reflecting his appreciation for the joy that music brought to life.
Above all, Wayne's faith was integral to who he was. He proudly embraced his beliefs after getting baptized, becoming an active member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. This commitment informed his values and shaped his relationships with family and his community.
He leaves behind an enduring legacy through his sons, Jason Sosby and Brian Wayne Sosby, and his grandsons, Brian Wayne Sosby Jr. and Calvin Lamar Jernigan. Wayne is also survived by his sisters, Teresa Delaney and Carol Cutter, brothers Kenneth Walton Sosby and William Lamar Sosby, and his treasured siblings-in-law, Jerry Delaney, Mary Sosby and, Jeff Cook.
Wayne was predeceased by several beloved family members, including his father, Calvin Sosby Jr., his mother, Faye Sosby, and his wife of over 40 years, Diane Sosby. Although their physical presence is missed, their spirits remain alive in the stories shared and the love that permeates their family's gatherings.
