Doris Virginia Ragan

Doris Virginia Ragan of McDonough, GA passed away peacefully on the morning of March 27, 2025 at the age of 93. She was born in Samoset, FL to the late John Thompson and Callie Rowell. She was preceded in death by her husband, Arthur L. “Buddy” Ragan, sons, Andrew W. Ragan, Randy L. Ragan (Athena), and Jeffery L. Ragan. Her death was also preceded by 9 siblings. Doris is survived by her daughters, Sharon Ragan Goza (Wayne) and Cindy Ragan Adair (Ed), 12 grandchildren, 23 great grandchildren, and 3 great great grandchildren along with many extended family. She spent her childhood on a farm where she developed her love of gardening, growing her own vegetables and beautiful flowers. She was a talented artist, gifting her paintings to family and friends. She enjoyed spending time with her children and grandchildren at family gatherings. Doris spent most of her life active in her church enjoying bible study and missions. Her later years were spent in her small McDonough community active in social events, gardening and extensive travel. Her funeral service will be Tuesday, April 1, at 12:00pm with visitation at 11:00am, in the chapel of Thomas Scroggs Funeral Home in Morrow. Her burial will follow the service at Forest Hills Memorial Gardens in Forest Park.
