Dennis Frank Owens, 65, of Forest Park, passed away Friday October 2, 2020 at his home in Forest Park, Georgia of natural causes.
He was born on the Army Base of Fort MacPherson Georgia on October 20, 1954, the son of John Frank Owens and the late Ozie Viola Dumas Owens. He attended Jonesboro High School before joining the US Navy in 1978. He was a veteran of the Vietnam War. After his years in the service, he found his role in Sales. He worked as a Industrial Tools Salesman for many years. He retired from his years in sales to find his love and passion for pool, golf, darts, and pinball. He spent his years of retirement enjoying watching his favorite teams “Georgia Tech Yellowjackets” and the “Atlanta Braves”.
Survivors include his wife of 37 years, Deborah Hembree Owens of Villa Rica Georgia; two daughters, Kara Owens and her son, Colin Henry (11) of Forest Park, Georgia; Marla Baker, her husband, Omar and their sons, Maalik (13), Jocque (8), Al (6), and Kash (2) of Atlanta Georgia; his father, John Frank Owens of Jackson Lake, Georgia; his sister, Lynn and her husband, Tony Lovin of McDonough, Georgia; his brother, Alan and his wife, Mitizi Owens of Williamson, Georgia; a host of nieces and nephews; and numerous friends from the pool halls he visited.
In accordance with his wishes, his body has been cremated, and a Celebration of Life will be held at a later date that is provided by the family. The family will update this site with more information when it becomes available.
