Dennis Lynn Howard

Dennis Lynn Howard, 75, of Forest Park, GA passed away peacefully at his home with his family by his side on Tuesday, September 12, 2023. A Funeral Service will be held in his honor on Saturday, September 16, 2023 at 1:00 PM at Thomas Scroggs Funeral Home with Dr. Carl Poole and Pastor David Edgar officiating. The family will receive visitors between the hours of 11:00 AM – 1:00 PM prior to the service. Dennis will be interred at Forest Hills Cemetery following the service. The family has requested in lieu of flowers donations be made to the family. 

Dennis is survived by his loving wife, Brenda Elaine Poole Howard of Forest Park, GA; sons, Chris Howard of Locust Grove, GA and Brandon Howard of Forest Park, GA; sister, Leslie Dale of Wisconsin; brother, Grady Howard, Jr. and wife Ann of Cumming, GA; grandchildren, Nyla, Justin, Kaylah, Cayden, Zoie, and Cario; nieces and nephews, and many other family members. He is preceded in death by his parents, Grady Howard, Sr. and Mary Howard; and grandson, Jordan Howard.

Dennis Lynn Howard was born on Wednesday, August 25, 1948 to Grady & Mary Howard in Atlanta, GA. He married his best friend and the love of his life; Brenda Elaine Poole Howard and they had 52 wonderful years together. Dennis worked for J.C. Penny for 33 years until he retired. He enjoyed watching the races, especially NASCAR. Dennis loved sports and enjoyed watching the Falcons, Braves, or Bulldogs play. In his spare time, he loved to go fishing, enjoyed building things for his family, but most of all, he enjoyed spending time with his grandchildren. Dennis had a care free spirit about him and a caring soul. He was a loving husband, father, grandfather, and brother. His presence will be forever missed.
