Charles Terry Dalton, affectionately known as Terry, departed this life unexpectedly on January 14, 2025, in Fayetteville, Georgia. Born on October 11, 1951, in Atlanta, Georgia, Terry was a vibrant soul whose presence brought warmth and joy to everyone he encountered.

For many years, Terry worked as a fruit salesman, proudly earning the nickname “the fruit man". It was not merely about the fruit; it was about the connections he forged and the sense of community he cultivated

Terry was more than just a dedicated worker; he was a family-oriented individual whose greatest joy came from watching his loved ones thrive. His wife of 54 years, Carol, and children, Dana and Bryan, were his pride and joy, alongside his loving daughter-in-law, Carey. He delighted in the lives of his grandchildren—Jared, Joseph, India, Joshua, Hannah, and Matthew—and was a doting great-grandfather to Janiyah, Jaxen, Noah, and Noel. The love he shared with his family was boundless, and his commitment to nurturing them was evident to all who knew him. He had a profound impact on a number of nieces and nephews and welcomed many others into his life that he had a hand in raising, treating them all as his own.

He found solace in nature. A passionate animal lover, Terry enjoyed taking his little dog, Jazzy, for daily walks. He had a special fondness for deer watching and hunting, relishing the quiet moments spent in the embrace of the great outdoors. Fishing was a cherished pastime, where he spent endless hours catching. In his backyard, he could often be found feeding the birds and squirrels, sharing his love for all creatures great and small.

Sports were another significant part of Terry's identity. An avid fan, he passionately supported the Atlanta Braves, Atlanta Falcons, and Georgia Bulldogs, uplifting those around him with his enthusiasm and spirit.

Terry's life was one of hard work and dedication. He proudly labored throughout his years to provide his family with a comfortable life, striving to give them opportunities he wished he had growing up. He was consistently proud of his family, committed to being a constant support in their lives, and ensuring they always felt loved.

Terry’s visitation will take place at the Thomas L. Scroggs Funeral Directors located at 6362 South Lee Street, Morrow, GA, on January 20, 2025, from 9:00 AM to 8:00 PM, and again on January 21, 2025, from 12:00 PM to 2:00 PM. A funeral service to celebrate his life will follow on January 21 at 2:00 PM.
