Martha "Billie" Lawson, of Forest Park, passed away on August 18, 2020. She was born on December 8, 1930 in Baraboo, WI to Edward and Amy Wieglou. She graduated from Baraboo High School in 1948. After two years of college at the University of Wisconsin she became a professional dance instructor for Arthur Murray Dance Studios. She fell for the love of her life, Bill Lawson, while teaching him how to dance and eventually moved to Denver, Co. They were married for 15 years before his untimely death. She loved her family, including her church family at The Rock Presbyterian. She also had a love for birds, dragon flies, boating, and adventure of any kind.
A memorial service will be held at Thomas L. Scroggs Funeral Directors on Saturday, August 29, 2020 at 11:00 am. The family will be receiving friends at the funeral home prior to service beginning at 10:00 am. Dr. John Stovall will be officiating. Services will be live streamed on Facebook. She was preceded in death by her husband, Bill Lawson; parents, Edward and Amy Wieglow, and 7 siblings. She is survived by her daughter, Julie Lawson Rowlette (Joe) of Scotsdale, AZ; son, Ted Lawson (Tracy) of Jonesboro; grandchild, Kelley Walker (Clint) of Jonesboro, numerous nieces and nephews.
