Betty Lounette Foster

 After a full and happy life of almost 94 years, Betty Lounette Jeffries Foster died quietly from natural causes at her home. Betty was born June 24, 1930, and grew up in Forest Park where she lived all her life. She loved her family and friends and was happiest when she was with them. She would tell you that she could never be a leader, yet she exemplified how Christ would have us live as his disciples each day: giving her time and tithe to Philadelphia Presbyterian Church, caring for those in need, giving what little she had to others, and praying for everyone she knew. She especially loved the women in her church circle. 

Betty was preceded in death by Edwin Neil Foster, her husband and one true love of 52 years, and her mother and father, Lounette and Claude Jeffries. 

Betty is survived by her three children: Debra Foster Durden (Greg) of Jonesboro, Dinah Foster Bingham (David, deceased) of Forest Park, and Jeffrey Neil Foster (Cherish) of Stockbridge. She is also survived by four grandchildren, eight great-grandchildren, three nieces, and numerous cousins. 

Her life will be celebrated April 30, 2024, at Philadelphia Presbyterian Church at 3:00 p.m. Visitation will be held from 1:00 p.m.-3:00 p.m. in the church parlor. Interment will follow at the church cemetery. 

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Philadelphia Presbyterian Church in Forest Park or to the Clayton County Humane Society.
