Bobby L. Williams, of Lake City, passed away on January 16, 2018. His services will be held on Friday, January 19, 2018 at 11:00 am. Interment will follow at Forest Hills Memorial Gardens. The family will be accepting friends at the funeral home on Thursday from 5pm-8pm. Councilman Bobby Williams served on the Lake City Council for 36 years. Councilman Williams spent much of his career with the Western Bell Telephone Company and later retired after 34 years from Bell South as a Maintenance Engineer Supervisor in 1987. Councilman Williams has held officer level positions in an array of local civic organizations for the past 40 years including the former Morrow/Lake City Recreation Association. He was preceded in death by his wife, Mollie Williams and his son, Ronny Williams. He is survived by his sons, Christopher Williams (Melissa) of Jonesboro and Terry Williams of Morrow; 10 grandchildren, 12 great grandchildren, and 1 great great grandchild, numerous nieces and nephews.
