Anne Stone Phillips, of Forest Park, passed away on June 2, 2017. Born May 1, 1924, in McDonough to Claude Stone and Elizabeth Barrett Stone. The family moved to Forest Park when Anne was young and she spent the rest of her life there. Married in 1945, she was a dutiful homemaker dedicated to the comfort of her family. Anne had a passion for cooking and is well known for her baked goods that she generously shared with family, friends, and acquaintances. Her greatest joy was spending time with the scores of relatives and lifelong friends in the area. She was devoted wife of Lawrence Eugene “Gene” Phillips (deceased 1999) and is survived by her sons, Tim Phillips of Stockbridge and Stone Phillips (Clair) of Brookhaven; sisters Chris Truitt of Denver and Jeanette Keeter of Stockbridge; grandson, Zeke Phillips of Atlanta; numerous nieces and nephews; many close cousins. Visitation with the family will be at Thomas L. Scroggs Funeral Home-Morrow on Tuesday, June 6, between 5:00pm and 8:00pm. The Funeral Service will be Wednesday at 11:00 AM in the chapel of Thomas L. Scroggs FD. Interment will follow at Flippen United Methodist Church Cemetery in Stockbridge. The family will gather at her home in Forest Park afterward. Thomas L.
