Charles W. Sheppard

Mr. Charles W. Sheppard, Sr. of Griffin, formerly of Forest Park, passed away June 22, 2015 at the age of 93. Mr. Sheppard was a long time member of the First Baptist Church of Forest Park and served in the U.S. Navy during WW II. Charles was preceded in death by his wife Stella Reid Sheppard and is survived by his sons; Charles "Walter" W. Sheppard, Jr. (Freda) of Stockbridge and Richmond R. Sheppard (Joy) of Forest Park; grandson, Chad E. Sheppard; special friends, Mary Lou Smith and Gail Tyson; nieces and nephews. Funeral services will be held Thursday, June 25, 2015 at 11:00 am at the First Baptist Church of Forest Park with interment to follow at Sherwood Memorial Park. Rev. Dr. Ed Lycett will officiate. The family will receive friends Wednesday (Today) from 5:00 to 8:00 pm at the funeral home. In lieu of flowers the family request contributions be made to First Baptist Church of Forest Park and/or Jones Memorial United Methodist Church general funds.
