Charles Hilliard Thompson, Jr.,98, of Forest Park GA passed away January 16, 2015. Charles was born and raised in East Point GA, an active member and Lifetime Deacon of First Baptist Church Of Forest Park, and member and past president of Forest Park Kiwanis Club.He is a veteran of World War II and Korean Conflict. Charles received a Law Degree from John Marshall Law School, retired from the US Government and practiced law with Hodges Law Firm.Charles was also a Boy Scout Leader for many years. The family will receive friends, Sunday, January 18, 2015 from 2-5 pm. Funeral Service will be held at First Baptist Church of Forest Park, Monday, January 19, 2015 at 11 am. Dr. Reed Crumbliss officiating. A graveside service will be held at a later date at Arlington Memorial Cemetery, Sandy Springs, GA. Charles is preceded in death by wife of 46 years Dorothy Tatom Thompson. Survivors include, sons Charles H. Thompson III & Shirley, Ashland, KY, Cary Thompson & Teresa, Stockbridge, GA, Doyle Thompson & Susan, Fallon, NV; daughter Doris Williamson & Jeff, Morrow, GA; sister Roline Carmichael & Mike, Woodstock, GA; 9 Grandchildren, 8 Great Grandchildren, and numerous in laws, nieces and nephews. Survived by wife of 19 years Margie Bass Thompson Forest Park, GA and her children Sharon & William Cavin, McDonough, GA, Robert & Monique Collins, Peachtree City, GA, Lori & Dennis Bosarge, Coden AL, Elizabeth & Jeff Cook, Big Canoe, GA; 6 Grandchildren, 4 Great Grandchildren and numerous in laws, nieces and nephews.
