Thomas Loy Scroggs, of Hampton, passed away on Tuesday, June 24, 2014.
About a month before his 15th birthday, Thomas got a job working for Abercrombie and Patterson, a funeral home in Forest Park(Clayton County). That was June 1958, and ever since then,for 55 years, he was directing funerals. His calling and passion was for serving families in their time of need. He also, enjoyed mentoring up and coming funeral directors. Thomas also served on the board at Clayton General Hospital for 18 years,was a brother member of Forest Park Masonic Lodge #399, and was a member of the Forest Park Rotary Club. He loved traveling in his motor home and listening to gospel music. He was so proud of his children and his grandchildren.
Funeral services for Thomas L. Scroggs will be Saturday, June 28, 2014 at Jones Memorial United Methodist Church,5320 Phillips Drive, Lake City, GA 30260 at 1 pm. Rev. Tommy Aman, Dr. Curtis Turner, and Dr. Reed Crumbliss will be officiating. Interment to follow at Forest Hills Memorial Gardens. Visitation, Friday 3-7 pm at the Jones Memorial UMC..
He is survived by his beloved wife of 50 years, Linda Scroggs; son, Kevin Scroggs (Margie); daughter, Keisha Scroggs Holbrook (Rod);grandchildren, Kelsey Scroggs, Morgan Cadwell, David Holbrook, Madilyn Scroggs, Jacob Holbrook, Kolton Scroggs, and Luke Holbrook; brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law, aunts, uncles, and cousins, numerous nieces and nephews and a host of friends.
