Kathryn Ida Graham

Kathryn Ida Graham, of Henry County passed away Sunday, May 26, 2013 at the age of 92. She was the last surviving member of the family of Clinton R. and Georgia Lawrence Graham originally of Dallas, GA. Miss Graham was born in 1920 and grew up in the Lakewood Heights community of SE Atlanta. She was a faithful employee of the Georgia Power Co. for 44 years, retiring from there in 1984 and subsequently moving to live next door to her niece and family. Kathryn was a member of the Lakewood Heights Baptist Church and the First Baptist Church of Morrow where she faithfully served the Lord Jesus Christ in both places. Kathryn lived a full and joy filled life, having travelled in 41 of the 50 states of the USA and even at her advanced age leaves many life long friends who will think of her often. She was preceded in death by her parents; brothers, C.L. Graham and Harold Graham; sisters, Martha Robins, Barbara McDaniel, and sister and brothers-in law. Having never been married, Aunt Kathryn served as a surrogate grandmother to her nieces and nephews, Melanie Powers, Kelly Fox, Nanette Hayes, Wesley Graham, Eddie Robins and the late Mark Graham and the late Marcy Graham. She will be greatly missed by all, but her family rejoices in her now being with Christ. Funeral services will be held Friday, May 31, 2013 at 2:00 pm at the chapel of Thomas L. Scroggs Funeral Directors, Morrow GA, with interment to follow at Westview Cemetery. Rev. Dr. Bill Lacy will officiate. The family will receive friends on Friday, starting at 12:00 pm until service time. In lieu of flowers the family suggests memorial donations be made to Samaritan's Purse, P.O.
