Rufus Lindsey Word "Curl"

Rufus L. "Curl" Word, of Forest Park, WWII Navy Veteran, passed away on October 24, 2012. Mr. Word worked with several truck lines and later retired from Consolidated Freight in 1986. He served many years as a proud 728 Teamster Union member. A service will be held in the chapel at Thomas L. Scroggs Funeral Directors on Monday, October 29, 2012 at 1:00 pm. Rev. Jesse Hobgood to officiate. Interment to follow at Sherwood Memorial Park. Visitation, Sunday from 2-5 pm. Survivors include his wife, Gladys Word; sons, Robert Word and special friend, Karen Singleton, Jason and Christy Word, Greg and Janelle Blasingame, Tommy and Martha Blasingame, Larry and Sandra Edgecumbe; sisters, Eubie Turner, Wilma Williams, Maureen Williams; brothers, Mac and Edna Word, Robbie and Judy Word; many grandchildren, great grandchildren, nieces and nephews.
