Juanita Lee Bowlden of Stockbridge passed away January 22, 2012 at the age of 89 after having been surrounded by her loving family. Juanita was an accomplished musician with expertise in organ and piano. She became church organist at Forest Park First Baptist Church at the age of 12 and continued to serve in that position throughout her life. She also played for many years at Calvary Baptist Church and sang with the Harmonettes sextet. Juanita was the first female member of the local Kawanis Club where she also served as pianist. Her working career included being school dietitian at Capital View Elementary School in Atlanta for 30 years. Juanita is survived by her husband of 70 years, Ralph Bowlden; sons, Randy Bowlden (Alice), St. Simons Island and Rod Bowlden (Carole), Jonesboro; sister, Carolyn Nipper (George), Stockbridge; brothers, William J. "Bill" Lee (Mary), Stockbridge, Jere Lee (Pam), Stockbridge and Gene Lee (Gail), Clarksville; grandchildren, Mandy and Jim Sandrock, Josh and Lisa Crumbley, Courtney and Mathew Hortman and Nicholas Bowlden; great grandchildren, Nolan and Ella Sandrock, Tyler and Lily Hortman. Funeral services will be held Wednesday, Jan. 25, 2012 at 11:00 am at Forest Park First Baptist Church with interment to follow at Jones Memorial United Methodist Church Cemetery. Dr. Reed Crumbliss will officiate. The family will receive friends Tuesday (TODAY) from 4:00 to 8:00 pm at the funeral home. Thomas L.
